How can I book an appointment with one of your psychologists?

You can speak to one of our lovely administration staff by calling us on 03 7064 4099, filling out the online enquiry on the website or emailing us at info@everglowpsychology.com.au  They will assist you in finding a psychologist who is likely well-suited to you and your needs.

What should I expect for my first appointment?

During your initial appointment, your psychologist will develop an understanding of your concerns, identify your therapy goals and discuss how they may be able to help you in achieving them.

3

Do you provide EMDR therapy to clients?

Yes, we have several psychologists who are trained in EMDR therapy. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that is commonly used to treat symptoms of PTSD, phobias, OCD, anxiety and other presenting problems. Your clinician will discuss if this is a suitable option for you.

4

How long is an appointment?

Our sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. Longer sessions are available. Please discuss this with your psychologist.

5

Do you provide telehealth services?

Yes, all clients have the option to have their session take place via telehealth (either video conferencing or phone), as well as face-to-face. You will receive an email prior to your first appointment with further details.

6

How often will I need sessions?

We don’t work on a one-size-fits all approach, however, we understand it can be difficult to know your needs when starting with a new psychologist. We usually recommend our clients start off attending weekly or fortnightly sessions and tailor the frequency of sessions depending on their progress and the recommendations of their psychologist.

7

How many sessions will I need?

The length of treatment required is unique to each client, so it will largely be determined by the nature of your concerns. Your psychologist will discuss the estimated length of treatment with you following your initial session.

8

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you do have a valid referral from your GP or psychiatrist, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate.

9

Do you have parking on-site?

Yes, there is free parking in front of the clinic. Be mindful that the carpark near IGA is only 1-hour parking, so please be aware of signage where you park.

10

How do I get there?

We are situated off the main road of James Street - to find us you need to turn up the ramp off James Street and take your first right to a strip of shops located above the shops on the main road. There is a bus stop out the front of the clinic, which services buses 280, 281, 282 and 905.

11

What if it isn’t the right fit?

After the first few sessions, if you start feeling unsure or think that the connection with your psychologist isn't quite clicking, no worries! They, or our admin team, are here to help. We can suggest other community groups, therapists, or ways to keep things moving in a direction that feels right for you.

Please note that a 50% fee applies to appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 5 hours-48 hours before the scheduled appointment time. A full-service fee applies for any non attended appointments, or appointments cancelled within 0 hours - 5 hours.
